1What our products are, and what they are not
Nefense products are hygiene and comfort products for everyday nasal care. A spray or a rinse cleanses and moistens the inside of the nose. A nasal dilator is a small reusable device worn just inside the nostrils. They are meant to be used regularly, as part of ordinary personal care, in the same way as the other things you keep by the sink.
Our products are not a treatment for any medical condition. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, and none of them is a substitute for care from a qualified health professional or for a medicine you have been told to take.
If you have a symptom that worries you, that keeps coming back, or that is getting worse, that is a reason to have it looked at. It is not a reason to buy something from us instead.
2Information on this site is general information
Everything we publish, on product pages, in articles, in emails and in videos, is general information about our products and about ordinary nasal care. It is not medical advice, it is not personal to you, and reading it does not create a professional relationship of any kind between you and anybody here.
Do not delay getting advice, or ignore advice you have been given, because of something you read on our site. If something we publish and something your own health professional told you point in different directions, follow the person who has actually examined you.
Nefense Professional Corporation is a separate company from Sleep Balance Academy PC. Nefense is a retailer of consumer hygiene products. It does not provide health care, and no one here is in a position to advise you about your own health. If you ask us whether a product is right for you personally, we will tell you we cannot answer that rather than guess at it.
3Using a product
Read the label before you use a product for the first time, and keep the carton or the insert while you still have the product. The instructions on the pack you bought are the ones that count, and they may be more recent than anything you saved from a web page.
Use a product only in the way its label describes, and only as often as the label says. More is not better with any of this. Do not use a product for a purpose it is not described as being for.
If you are using more than one product, or using something alongside anything a health professional has given you, ask them about the order and the timing rather than working it out yourself.
4When to speak to a health professional first
Ask before you start using one of our products, and ask about your own situation specifically, if any of these apply to you:
- you have a condition affecting your nose or sinuses, or you are under care for one
- you have had surgery on your nose, or an injury to it, whether recently or in the past, including a procedure you are still recovering from
- you have a bleeding disorder, or you take a medicine that affects bleeding or clotting
- you are pregnant or nursing
- you have reacted badly to a similar product before
- you are thinking about using one for a child. Our products are for adults unless the label says otherwise. Ask first, and if the answer is yes, supervise use and keep the product where the child cannot reach it between times.
This list is a starting point rather than a complete one. If you are unsure for any other reason, that is reason enough to ask.
5Warnings that apply to everything we sell
- Use as directed. Use only as directed on the label, externally or in the nose as the label describes. Not for use in the eyes or the ears. Not to be swallowed.
- Do not share. A bottle or a personal device belongs to one person. Sharing one moves whatever is on it to somebody else, which is exactly what a hygiene product is supposed to prevent.
- Do not use a damaged bottle. Do not use a bottle that is damaged, cracked, leaking, or that was not sealed when you opened it, and do not use one past the date on the pack.
- Keep away from the eyes. If a product gets into your eye, rinse it with plenty of clean water. If discomfort or redness continues, get medical advice.
- Keep out of reach of children. Keep products out of reach of children and pets. If a child swallows any, contact a poison control center or get medical help straight away.
- Stop if something is wrong. Stop using the product and get advice if you have irritation, pain, bleeding, a rash, swelling, or difficulty breathing.
- Do not alter a product. Do not dilute a product, mix it with anything, refill a bottle, or move what is left into another container.
6Ingredients and allergies
The full list of what is in a product is printed on its carton or bottle, and where we have published it on the website it is on that product's page. If you cannot find it, write to support@nefense.com and we will send it to you before you buy.
Formulations can change. The label on the pack in your hand is the authoritative list, so read it even if you have used the product before.
If you react to things, read the list first. If you are not sure whether an ingredient is right for you, that is a question about you rather than about the product, and the right person to ask is a health professional. If you do have a reaction, stop using the product and tell us, using section 10.
7Storage and shelf life
Store products at normal room temperature, out of direct sunlight and away from heat. Do not freeze one, and do not leave one in a vehicle in hot or freezing weather.
There is a date on the pack. Some products also carry a period-after-opening figure, which starts on the day you break the seal and can be shorter than the date printed on the carton. Whichever applies to your product is on its label.
When that period is up, stop using the product and dispose of it with your household waste. Do not top it up and do not decant what is left. A bottle that has been open for a long time is not a saving.
If a bottle reaches you having clearly been frozen or overheated in transit, do not use it. Tell us and we will replace it, as the Shipping Policy and the Returns and Refunds Policy describe.
8Cleaning and replacing a reusable device
Clean a reusable device after every use, in the way its own instructions describe. That normally means rinsing it in warm water with a mild soap, rinsing the soap off completely, and letting it air dry before you put it away. Store it dry and in its case rather than in a damp bathroom.
Do not boil a device, put it in a dishwasher, or clean it with alcohol, bleach or anything abrasive unless its instructions specifically say you can. Heat and harsh chemicals change the material even when the damage does not show.
Replace it at the interval its instructions give, and sooner if it is cracked, torn, discolored, sticky, misshapen, or no longer holding its shape. One person, one device: do not share it and do not pass it on.
9What we do not promise
People are different, and experience with any everyday care product varies from one person to the next. We do not promise you a particular result, and nobody can tell you in advance how you will get on with a product.
Reviews and stories on our site are individual experiences. They are not a typical result and they are not evidence that a product will do anything in particular for you.
We do not claim that our products treat, prevent, cure or manage any condition, and you should not read a claim like that into anything we publish. If you see one attached to a Nefense product anywhere, it did not come from us or it is wrong, and we want to know about it.
10Telling us about a safety problem or a reaction
If a product caused you a problem, gave you a reaction, or was wrong in a way that could affect somebody's safety, tell us. This matters to us more than a refund does, and you do not have to want a refund in order to report it.
- Write to support@nefense.com.
- Tell us which product it was, and the lot or batch code from the pack if you still have it.
- Tell us when you used it and what happened.
- Tell us whether anyone needed medical attention.
- Keep the product if you can, and do not throw it away until we have replied. A product that went wrong is evidence about a whole batch, not just about your bottle.
A report like this is not handled as an ordinary support message. It is opened as a safety case with its own reference and its own record, kept separately from the support conversation it arrived on. That matters: a support conversation can be closed, merged or deleted, and the safety record survives all three. It is not something that can be quietly removed, and each step taken on it is recorded against the person who took it.
We reply to you, we tell you what we did, and we come back to you if we need more. Reporting a safety problem never affects your right to a replacement or a refund under the Returns and Refunds Policy, and we will not ask you to give anything up in exchange for one.
11Reporting to the Food and Drug Administration
You can also report a problem with a product to the Food and Drug Administration. Its consumer reporting program is called MedWatch, and you can report to it directly, whether or not you have told us as well.
Report a problem to the FDA through MedWatch
We will never ask you not to make a report, and making one changes nothing about how we deal with you or about anything you are owed.
12Changes to this document
We update this document when what we do changes, when the law changes, or when we find wording that is unclear. Every version is kept, and each one records the date it took effect.
How you find out depends on how much changed. A correction that does not change your rights is simply published. A change that does affect your rights is announced before it takes effect. A change that materially alters what you agreed to is not applied to you by silence: we ask you to accept it, and continuing to browse the site is not treated as acceptance.
If you want a copy of an earlier version, or want to know what changed and when, write to support@nefense.com and we will send it to you.
